Monroe has the opportunity to be an economic hub for North Louisiana. We must continue to grow jobs in this area as well as prepare our citizens to have the skills necessary to support these employers. We must develop partnerships between education and our local businesses as well as potential employers. There are too many unfilled positions within the surrounding area that are not able to be filled because we have not set up our citizens with the right skills to take advantage of these well paying positions that are available.
